US Vice President JD Vance has raised eyebrows with a striking comment about the end times, saying he would not be surprised if the Antichrist were already “walking among us.”

JD Vance made the remark during a conversation with Christian podcaster Bryce Crawford about his faith, artificial intelligence and the possibility that the world could be approaching the biblical end times.

The comments have renewed interest in one of Christianity’s most enduring and mysterious divs. But while the Antichrist is deeply embedded in Christian tradition, the popular image of a single charismatic global ruler is drawn from several biblical passages rather than one straightforward prophecy.
