Ahmedabad, India — June 12: A devastating air crash shook the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport this morning as an Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, en route to London, crashed moments after takeoff. The wide-bodied jet was carrying 242 people and was fully fueled for the long-haul journey to the UK.

While it is too early to determine the exact cause of the crash, preliminary analysis of the visuals and flight data has sparked concerns about a critical failure in lift or thrust just seconds after takeoff.

The plane lost altitude at just 825 feet

The aircraft, which had barely ascended to an altitude of 825 feet, appeared to struggle with the climb. According to early flight data, the crew made a desperate attempt to maintain altitude and control the aircraft before issuing a Mayday call. Moments later, the plane went down.
