Gaza TV Cartoon Urged Kids to ‘Kill Israelis,’ Claims Report

Gaza – A children’s television program aired in Palestine allegedly encouraged anti-Jewish violence, glorified martyrdom, and promoted extremist ideologies, The New York Post has reported.
The show, Tomorrow’s Pioneers, broadcast on Hamas-owned Al-Aqsa TV every Friday between 2007 and 2009, featured costumed animal characters, including a Mickey Mouse lookalike named “Farfour.” The character allegedly urged children to “kill” Israelis, pursue Islamic world domination, and “liberate Jerusalem from the murderers.”
In one controversial episode, Farfour was depicted being beaten to death by Israeli soldiers and was later replaced by other characters. Another character, a rabbit, allegedly told young viewers, “I will finish off the Jews and eat them.”

Mia Bloom, Professor of Communication and Middle East Studies at Georgia State University, described the show as “a constant stream of horrific propaganda that is almost impossible for a child to break out of.”
According to Bloom, the program fostered the belief that “every Israeli should be killed because every Israeli is bad and evil.” She called the show “a form of child abuse” and “long-term manipulation,” warning that it helped shape the mindset of some fighters who took part in the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel.
Bloom likened the indoctrination methods to tactics used by groups such as the Taliban and ISIS, creating “a preparedness to justify violence and to choose violence over other options.”
Hosted by child presenter Saraa Barhoum alongside Farfour, Tomorrow’s Pioneers featured skits, conversations with young callers, and songs that praised sacrifice and martyrdom. Episodes also included children expressing a desire to die as martyrs.
In 2009, Palestinian Information Minister Mustafa Barghouthi called for the program to be suspended for review following complaints from Israeli watchdog groups that gained international traction. However, the show continued to air without changes.
Fathi Hammad, then chairman of Al-Aqsa TV, defended the program, insisting, “It does not violate any moral or professional standard,” and affirming that the content would remain unchanged.
