Serial “Butt Sniffer” Arrested Again in California

A Glendale man with a history of bizarre and disturbing public behavior has been arrested once again in Burbank, marking the latest incident in a string of cases that have spanned several years.
Police confirmed that Calese Carron Crowder, 38, a registered sex offender, was taken into custody around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, August 20. He was booked into the Burbank Police Department jail shortly after midnight.
Although Burbank police later dropped their complaint, citing insufficient evidence, Crowder is now being held without bail by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation on a parole violation, according to inmate records.

This is the second arrest for Crowder in less than a month. On July 22, officers detained him after surveillance video from a Nordstrom Rack at Empire Center showed him loitering in the women’s section before crouching behind a shopper and allegedly sniffing her backside.
He was tracked to a nearby Walmart, arrested, and charged with loitering with intent to commit a crime. At the time, bail was set at $100,000, and his court date was scheduled for August 1.
That arrest drew widespread attention, adding to a growing public record of Crowder’s unusual behavior.
