In a move that stunned global markets, U.S. President Donald Trump announced an additional 100% tariff on all Chinese imports, escalating what experts are calling the most significant trade confrontation since 2018.

The decision, unveiled late Thursday, came just hours after Beijing introduced sweeping export controls on rare-earth minerals, critical raw materials used in semiconductors, fighter jets, and advanced electronics.
