The late-night scare was captured on video as a clown, a nun, and a horror villain threatened to “break in and kill everyone inside.”

A widow in Alexandria, Virginia, endured a horrifying ordeal when three masked individuals, dressed as a clown, a nun, and movie villain Michael Myers, pounded on her door late at night during Halloween, shouting death threats and trying to force their way inside.

The frightening encounter, which occurred around 10 p.m. near Washington, D.C., was caught on the family’s doorbell camera, showing the costumed intruders demanding entry and threatening violence.

According to WUSA9, the widow’s daughter, Shayla, initially mistook the knocking for a Halloween prank. “I said, ‘Happy Halloween,’” she recalled. But when the trio refused to leave, the situation escalated rapidly.

“The knocks would get harder and harder,” Shayla said. “My heart dropped when they said they were going to take a chair and break down the door.”

‘It’s either you coming out or we coming in’

The video footage shows the costumed trio standing close to the door, shouting menacingly. One voice can be heard yelling:

“It’s either you coming out or we coming in. Open the door!”

When the family threatened to call the police, the masked divs moved to the backyard, where they broke through a wooden fence and began banging on windows and peering inside the home.

Inside were Shayla, her younger brother, her recently widowed mother, and the family dog. The group stayed hidden while police were called.

The intruders eventually fled, but the psychological toll on the family was immediate. “My mom lost her husband not long ago,” Shayla said. “Now she’s terrified to stay alone in her own home.”

Police: ‘A very serious matter’

Alexandria Police Chief Tarrik McGuire called the incident “a very serious matter” and confirmed that investigators are reviewing the doorbell footage to identify the suspects.

“They began to make threatening and alarming comments to the family,” McGuire said during a press briefing. “Specifically, they said, ‘If you do not come out, we will come in,’ and also threatened to do bodily harm, stating that they would ultimately kill them.”
