What drew equal attention was his warm embrace with Erika Kirk, the widow of late Trump aide Charlie Kirk, and her emotional remarks about seeing “some similarities” of her late husband in the vice president.
Erika Kirk made her first major public appearance since Charlie Kirk’s assassination in September, where she delivered a heartfelt address about courage and loss before introducing JD Vance on stage.
“When our team asked my dear friend JD Vance to speak today, I really prayed on it, because obviously it’s a very emotional day,” she said, pausing before adding, “No one will ever replace my husband. But I do see some similarities between my husband in JD.”

“Most Sundays, Usha will come with me to the church… Do I hope, eventually, that she is somehow moved by the same thing that I was moved by in church? Honestly, I do wish that, because I believe in the Christian gospel,” Vance said.
The statement invited backlash across political and religious circles. In a later post on X, Vance clarified that his wife had no plans to convert to Christianity.
