Diddy sues NBC for $100 million over Peacock’s The Making of a Bad Boy documentary

Sean “Diddy” Combs has filed a $100 million lawsuit against NBC over the documentary Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy.
The 55-year-old rap mogul is currently in custody in New York, awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. The documentary, which aired on Peacock last month, includes interviews with Combs’s childhood friends, former employees, bodyguard, alleged victims, and singer Al B. Sure!, who was married to Combs’s late ex, Kim Porter.
According to the lawsuit filed in New York County’s Supreme Court, Combs’s legal team argues that NBC “maliciously and recklessly” aired false allegations to capitalize on public scandal.

The lawsuit states that claims of murder and sex with minors are false, and NBC disregarded Combs’s right to a fair trial in their pursuit of sensationalism.
Combs alleges he has suffered substantial reputational and financial harm and is seeking a jury trial and damages of no less than $100 million.
NBC has not yet commented on the lawsuit.

Combs was indicted in September and has pleaded not guilty to charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transporting individuals for prostitution. He was arrested in New York City on September 16 and has remained in detention since then.
Over the past 16 months, at least 40 plaintiffs have filed lawsuits against him, alleging sexual assault or other misconduct.
Most recently, a new lawsuit claims that Combs drugged and sexually assaulted a teenage girl in 2000.

The lawsuit, filed on January 13, refers to the plaintiff as Jane Doe, a 16-year-old high school student at the time. According to the suit, she was walking home from a babysitting job in Lower Manhattan when she encountered Combs.
The woman claims Combs persuaded her to enter his SUV, where she was allegedly assaulted.
In response, Combs’s legal team has denied all allegations, stating:
“No matter how many lawsuits are filed, it won’t change the fact that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted or sex trafficked anyone—man or woman, adult or minor.”
They added that Combs remains confident he will prevail in court.
