The abuse didn’t stop at coercion. Court documents reveal Fortinberry provided drugs to her victims, using substances to incapacitate them. In one harrowing instance, she reportedly drugged a teen multiple times before assaulting him. Another victim recounted how she waited until her own children were asleep before initiating sexual contact, while a third alleged she assaulted him after luring him to her home under the pretense of babysitting.
When resistance surfaced, the former teacher allegedly turned violent. “Just let it happen,” she reportedly told the boys as she raped them, according to one teen’s account.
Fortinberry’s alleged reign of terror extended beyond physical acts. She is accused of threatening suicide to silence her victims, a tactic that kept many from coming forward until a Department of Child Services investigation cracked the case open. One parent dropped a bombshell, claiming Fortinberry’s husband was complicit—allegedly threatening to “slaughter” a teen in her presence if he spoke out.
