Atkins was apprehended at approximately 7:30 PM local time near his home in West Palm Beach. During the arrest, police discovered cocaine in his possession. Following his arrest, Atkins admitted to making the threatening posts but claimed he was merely “joking.” However, West Palm Beach Police Chief Tony Araujo emphasized the seriousness of such statements: “Folks, this is not a joke. Atkins now faces serious charges, including a second-degree felony for making written or electronic threats to kill or cause bodily harm, as well as possession of cocaine.
